There are a number of reasons to choose to study for your MBA at ESMT Berlin. Whether the area interests you, or ESMT Berlin’s introduction of more specialized components interests you, ESMT wants to open its doors to you.

Admissions advice

Nick Barniville, Associate Dean at ESMT Berlin says the business school is often asked for recommendations from people who feel they don’t have enough work experience/poor GPAs/low test scores about what to do.

He says, “If you don’t have enough work experience for a particular program, get more.” Student hopefuls should also aim to hit as near the average GMAT test score for their chosen school, but if that isn’t feasible, to highlight other academic achievements.

Nick adds the admissions process is about “your ability to survive the program from an academic perspective.”

What’s new at ESMT in 2020?

The business school undertook extensive research with employers in Germany and across Europe, with employers noting they want candidates with a spike in a special area.

Therefore, ESMT has introduced three new specializations in strategy, innovation, and analytics. ESMT has lengthened the program to 14 months, allowing more time for students to get involved with hands-on project work and network handovers etc.

Why study in Berlin?

Nick says Berlin is often thought of as the European of New York, but whereas in NY you may feel anxious and that you’re missing out on something, you never feel that way in Berlin.

Always something, always buzzing but never too hectic. Nick says, “It’s a big city, but feels like a big village. Quite simply, it's a great place to live.”
